China
China, is the worlds most populous country and setting one foot in China would remove any doubt.
The Great Wall of China is an architectural wonder, extending far beyond the eye can imagine. Tiananmen Square is massive, such historical memories. Peking duck is a must and the street food can be perilous since it is usually unrecognizable.
The Terracotta Army, discovered by a local farmer, is a collection of terracotta soldiers… considered funerary art buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China in 210 BC to protect him in the afterlife. The work is still in progress and well worth a visit to see the timeless effort in restoration.
Xi’an, once the terminus of the Silk Road, is a beautiful city with beautiful pagodas and temples, contrasted with ultramodern skyscrapers. Strewn with food markets and food allies… any dumpling stall is worth a try.
Shanghai is an ultramodern 21st century city with beautiful skylines… best seen at night. Downtown pedestrian walkways take you by a well lit “Time Square“ past countless shops and restaurants with backdoor hideaways. Walk The Bund on the waterfront at night with its beautiful gilded lights.
Finally, do not miss Suzhou, the Venice of China. Take a boat ride through the city capturing all the homes and shops on the embankments. A walkable city as well, with dozens of shops selling handmade crafts and restaurants.

In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.
